I just returned home from the Quebec City (QC) 🇨🇦 immersion and wanted to share that it exceeded my expectations. 😀

I arrived in QC hoping to improve my French and left with stronger language skills, wonderful memories, and new friendships. What made the experience special was not only the opportunity to live in a French environment for 3-4 days (including navigating daily life, watching French news/shows on TV, etc.!), but also the people. I genuinely enjoyed every person on the immersion, from the French Club team to the other participants.

The atmosphere was welcoming, supportive, and fun, making it easy to take risks, whether that meant speaking French when you don't have all the words or trying escargots, foie gras, lapin, and cotes de sanglier (wild boar ribs) for the first time. It was the perfect environment for developing a higher level of comfort speaking French, embracing new experiences, and forming meaningful connections.

Before the immersion had ended, I was already compelled to do another immersion. I enthusiastically recommend a French Club immersion to anyone looking to accelerate their French while sharing the experience with a remarkable group of people.

My recent French immersion experience in Québec was both enriching and memorable in every sense. Over the course of those days, we toured, we spoke, we walked, we learned and listened; we befriended and connected, and we shared meals where we ate and toasted together. It was truly a full and immersive experience that engaged both mind and spirit.

What stood out most to me was the depth of historical insight woven throughout the program. Québec’s rich past came alive through guided exploration and thoughtful discussion, deepening my appreciation for its cultural and linguistic heritage. Equally meaningful were the moments of genuine connection with Québécois individuals. These interactions, though sometimes brief, offered authentic opportunities to practice language skills while building human connection, which is at the heart of any immersion experience.

This journey was not only an opportunity to strengthen my French, but also to grow personally through shared experiences, cultural exchange, and reflection. I return with a greater appreciation for Québec’s unique identity and a renewed enthusiasm for continued language learning.

❣『 Quebec City, June 10-12, 2026, Immersion program Trip』 It was a truly memorable trip, made possible by the incredible dedication and wholehearted efforts of the core team - French Club. I gained much more than language learning—I also discovered new perspectives through social and cultural interactions. The experience broadened my understanding of different ways of learning, living, and connecting with others. Most importantly, it enriched my appreciation of life's values and added new dimensions to my personal growth. I am grateful for this inspiring and rewarding journey. I sincerely appreciate everyone from these beautiful 3 days, incredible memory.

Thanks again Francois and Amy and Joan too! It was a lot to pull off but was a great experience. To me it was a good combination of the French immersion along with the experience of a beautiful city (maybe the most beautiful in Canada). Meeting great people (all!) was the bonus that I was not counting on. For me it was a good mix of the language, the city, the cuisine, and the physical. It is hard to pick out one place that was a favourite. The Terrasse itself is very special with its size, the Chateau Frontenac, and the river (fleuve)! I went for a couple of late walks on it and also did one yesterday morning before leaving. I also visited a couple of the small towns nearby which were a different look at a more rural Quebec. Well done Francois and I could see you doing a couple of different versions of this same trip. People will love it!
