Conjugation Workshop: The 100 Essential French Verbs (A2 / B1)
This five-week workshop is dedicated to the 100 most frequently used verbs in French and to conjugating them accurately in everyday speech and writing. The 150 verbs are selected by frequency, so students practice the forms they will actually use rather than rare or specialized ones.
The workshop is practice-based rather than lecture-based. Each session combines oral and written exercises, and students complete homework between classes. By the end, students can conjugate the core verbs across all six tenses and the futur proche, in statements and questions, without hesitation.
Over five 90-minute sessions on Zoom, students practice these verbs across six tenses used in everyday communication: présent, imparfait, passé composé, plus-que-parfait, conditionnel présent and futur simple. The workshop also covers the futur proche (aller + infinitive), along with affirmative and negative sentences and affirmative and negative questions, including ne... pas and the other common negation and question structures.
The workshop is practice-based rather than lecture-based. Each session combines oral and written exercises, and students complete homework between classes. By the end, students can conjugate the core verbs across all six tenses and the futur proche, in statements and questions, without hesitation.
The workshop is led by François Normandeau, founder and lead teacher of The French Club, who has taught thousands of hours of French to learners worldwide.
