Nous lirons des extraits ensemble, nous discuterons de moments clés de l'histoire du Québec et nous pratiquerons l'expression d'idées en français, dans un cadre structuré et sans pression. Attendez-vous à réfléchir, à réagir et à prendre la parole. Le français imparfait est le bienvenu.
Vous repartirez avec des repères culturels qui reviennent régulièrement dans les conversations, du vocabulaire réutilisable, et une meilleure compréhension de ce qui fait la singularité du Québec.

Paul Sebastianelli is a multilingual Canadian and father of three. Towards the end of 2023, after having become fluent in Italian, he decided to revisit his schoolboy French, which he hadn’t used in 30 years. His passion is literature and he reads widely in all three languages. He loves classics from the 18th and 19th centuries, from Dickens to Dostoevsky, through Steinbeck and Orwell, and he has developed a love of modern French-Canadian literature. He firmly believes that the voyage is as important as the destination.

L'immersion à Québec — mars 2027
Pour ceux et celles qui souhaitent aller plus loin, le cycle de lecture est aussi le point de départ d'une immersion de cinq jours à Québec, du 16 au 20 mars 2027.
Chaque matinée commencera autour d'un déjeuner dans un café de la ville, suivi d'un atelier de deux heures consacré à l'un des livres du cycle.
Les après-midis seront dédiés à la découverte de la ville : le Vieux-Québec, le Monastère des Augustines, la Citadelle, le Musée de la civilisation, l'Assemblée nationale et le Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.
Les soirées resteront libres, avec des activités optionnelles pour ceux qui le souhaitent.
Ce n'est pas un voyage touristique. C'est une semaine où le français se vit pleinement, dans les rues, les cafés et les institutions culturelles d'une des plus belles villes d'Amérique du Nord.
La participation à l'immersion requiert la lecture d'au moins cinq des sept livres du cycle. Les places sont limitées.

Exactly a week ago, I started attending The French Club sessions and have attended each session available under free events, the premium plan, and student-led practice sessions, just to see what was being offered. I have to say, I am yet to come across a platform with this kind of dedication and passion. François and his team have built not only a language learning platform but also a community that shares the same passion and love for the French language. Irrespective of the level one is at in their language learning journey, you feel welcomed and are given a safe and creative space to learn. You are pushed out of your comfort zone in a warm and friendly environment, in such a creative way that you don’t realize it and don’t feel intimidated. It’s just the beginning, and I am confident of acing the TEF/TCF, or absolutely any exam, with this kind of support.

I started attending these classes around 4-5 weeks ago and have to say François is an exceptional teacher; generous, responsible, and genuinely kind-hearted. He truly loves what he does, and it shows in every lesson. He teaches with passion and heart, and it makes a real difference.
The sense of camaraderie within the group is phenomenal. The community is filled with awesome people, which makes the learning experience even more enjoyable. And...there's Amy as well, who plays a key role in keeping everything organized. She manages the WhatsApp group along with François, shares class information, and provides ongoing support to both students and François and does a great job with that. They both wear their hearts on their sleeves, and it truly shows.
This has been a very enriching experience and will certainly continue my language learning with the group. Merci beaucoup!

J’ai commencé à apprendre le français avec François et au club de français. Je suis très content et je voudrais partager mon expérience d’aujourd’hui avec vous.
A unique quality of French Club and François is to offer variety of sessions that suits everyone’s own needs, level of knowledge, and interests. There are semi-private sessions, starter and premium plans and of course the free sessions.
Today, I attended the Written & Oral Comprehension Session for the first time, which is part of the Starter Plan. I didn’t know what to expect or what the format would be. It turned out to be one of the best experiences I’ve had.
First, all levels are welcome to attend, and François very effectively manages to make everyone participate in a way that suits their level. Everyone takes turns; reading paragraphs, interactively answering questions, and translating a paragraph from French to English and vice versa. There is no pressure, mostly on a voluntary basis. It is nice that François also calls names and kindly invites students to participate, and sometimes gently encourages them to try a bit harder than their level. While one person is reading, the others can follow along on mute and have time to look up vocabulary or take notes and learn from each other. At the end, the text is shared so you can review it later.
This session is such a valuable immersion experience if you are looking to accelerate your learning and enhance your written, oral, and comprehension skills.
