Why should I join this immersion?

If your French is solid on paper but you still hesitate when it’s time to speak, this immersion is designed for you. For five days in Montréal, you will build real speaking confidence through a simple and powerful rhythm: learn the skill in the morning, use it the same day in the city, and leave each day with clear progress.

This immersion is friendly and supportive. Making mistakes is normal, and you will be guided throughout the week. If you are shy, that is okay. If you are more confident, you will also be challenged. The small group size allows for personal attention and a strong group dynamic.
This is a small-group immersion (maximum 8 participants) for A2 and B1 learners. Each morning, we meet from 9:00 am to 11:00 am for a practical 'Atelier de Conversation'. This is not a lecture and it is not free chatting. It is guided, structured speaking practice with targeted feedback so you can build stronger reflexes: how to start and keep a conversation going, how to ask follow-up questions, how to buy time when you don’t understand, how to react naturally, and how to speak with more ease and less overthinking.

We have lunch from 11 am until 1 pm, in a different restaurant every day.
Then in the afternoons, we explore Montréal in French until around 5:00 pm. These are guided immersion outings in real contexts, where you will apply the morning skills in a calm, supportive way. We will spend time in some of Montréal’s most interesting areas and sights, such as the Pointe-à-Callière Museum, Mount Royal, Jean-Talon Market and Little Italy, the Plateau Mont-Royal, downtown Montréal, Old Montréal, and the Old Port. The goal is not to rush through the city. The goal is to live French in the city: listening, speaking, interacting, and connecting language to real memories.

By the end of the week, you should feel noticeably more comfortable doing the following in French: starting a conversation, keeping it going for a few minutes, asking follow-up questions, handling moments of confusion, and talking about your day with more ease. You will also leave with a stronger sense that French is something you can live in, not just study.

Typical Daily Schedule — 5-Day Immersion in Montréal

Mornings

9:00 am – 11:00 am Atelier de Conversation (Guided Workshop)
• Practical, structured speaking practice in French
• Focus on real conversation skills (starting, asking follow-ups, keeping the conversation going)
• Targeted feedback from the coach
• Designed for A2/B1 level learners (Not free chatting — guided practice with specific skill focus.)

Lunch Break

11:00 am – 1:00 pm Group Lunch in a Local Restaurant 
• Shared lunch in a different restaurant each day 
• Opportunity to use French in a casual, real-world setting 
• Time to relax and practise conversational French informally (Meals are at your own expense; breakfast and dinner are optional and at your discretion.)

Afternoons

1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Guided Immersion in Montréal (Real-World Application) 
• Explore the city with a guide using French only 
• Visit landmarks, neighbourhoods, museums, markets, parks, and other cultural spots 
• Practise listening and speaking while interacting with the environment 
• Focus is on living French, not just studying it

Examples of places the group may visit include: 
• Pointe-à-Callière Museum 
• Mount Royal mountain 
• Jean-Talon Market and Little Italy 
• Plateau Mont-Royal 
• Old Montréal and the Old Port (Aim: apply skills from the morning workshop in authentic contexts.)

Evenings

Evening — Optional & Flexible
Evenings are free.
Participants may:
• Rest
• Explore independently
• Dine together informally
• Continue conversations in small groups
Evening activities are optional and not formally scheduled.

Practical Details

  • My role: French language coach, cultural guide, and translator — available 8 hours/day (8:00 am–6:00 pm).
  • Meals: Daily group lunch. All meals, including these lunches, are at your own expense and not included in the immersion fee. Breakfast and dinner are optional and at your discretion.
  • Accommodation: Participants arrange their own lodging.
  • Arrival/Departure: Please plan to arrive at least one day before program start day.
  • Not included: Flights, lodging, all meals, airport transfers, visas, and personal expenses.

Refund Policy

  • Full Refund: If you cancel 45 days before the trip, you will receive a full refund. Refunds are issued within 7 days of receiving your written cancellation notice.
  • Partial Refund: If you cancel between 44 to 21 days before the trip, you will receive a partial refund (50%). Refunds are issued within 7 days of receiving your written cancellation notice.
  • No Refund: If you cancel within 20 days of the trip, no refund will be issued, as this is considered a late cancellation.
